Favorite Works (Portfolio 1)

Here are a series of works that demonstrate what I consider personal achievements in different mediums and understanding. Lots to learn yet! Still, it's nice to look back on the experimentation.

This may be my favorite painting thus far. I finished it last semester for an oil painting class. It's oil on wood, and portrays my vision of spirituality and heaven. The multiple facets of the form move like clockwork, and are inspired by my dreams. This painting is important to me largely because it was one of the first pieces I've created that I feel truly captures one of the bizarre scenes I've encountered in my dreams.

The next three pieces were also created last semester, and branch off of the first spirit painting in concept. In these figurative works, the spirit-like marks take solid form over the transparent bodies. I used to spend lots of time visualizing abstracted ways that the spirit could interact with the body... these paintings express those visualizations.

This is a photo I took of a combination of fluids. Though it's a couple years old, this remains one of my favorite works because of the depth and color.

These are two of my favorite drawings I finished for my RCAD portfolio. The drawing of the billboard was the first to require high concentration on detail from me, so I see it as a personal accomplishment.
